IPL 2022: DC’s Prithvi Shaw discharged from hospital after recovering from Typhoid

Shaw missed the last few games of IPL 2022 for DC.

Prithvi Shaw | DC TwitterDelhi Capitals (DC) opener Prithvi Shaw has rejoined the camp after being discharged from the hospital after recovering from a bout of Typhoid. Shaw, who has been missing in action since playing Delhi’s match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 1.

Shaw has been in good form for DC scoring 259 runs in 9 matches with 2 half-centuries at a strike rate of 159.87 giving flying starts to his team in powerplay overs. Shaw along with David Warner terrorized opposition bowling and set up the rest of the DC innings with Rovman Powell coming in at the death to add finishing touches.

Delhi Capitals, in a statement on Sunday, 15 May, said that the batsman had returned to the hotel and was being monitored by the medical team of the franchise.

Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from the hospital where he was being treated for a bout of typhoid. Shaw has returned to the team hotel where he is currently recuperating, while being monitored by the DC medical team,” the statement read.

Though Shaw’s availability for the rest of the DC games is unknown, he might come into the XI if DC manages to reach the playoffs. DC need to win both their remaining matches to remain in contention.
