IPL 2022: Prithvi Shaw to rejoin DC after recovering from illness - Report

Shaw missed three previous matches of DC in the tournament.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) are all set to receive a major boost ahead of their two crucial group stage matches in the ongoing IPL 2022, as their star opener Prithvi Shaw will be soon re-joining the franchise.

Shaw is likely to be available for the rest of the IPL 2022 after recovering from typhoid. He was hospitalized for typhoid. It is being reported that the opener is likely to be available for selection for the DC’s next IPL 15 clash with the Punjab Kings (PBSK) on May 16.

DC’s last group stage match in the ongoing IPL 2022 is against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 21. Notably, DC is currently striving to make it to the playoffs and is in the 5th position in the points table with 12 points, and if the franchise wants to make it to the top four, they will have to win both matches with a significant margin.

Meanwhile, there is a big update on Shaw’s fitness. A TOI source was quoted as saying: “When they play their next game against the Punjab Kings on Monday evening, Shaw is very likely to be available.”

Notably, Shaw was hospitalized for the last few days due to a high fever and missed three matches of his team in the ongoing IPL 2022. He played his last match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 1.
