Gujarat Titans (GT) edged out Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a nail-biting clash at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday (April 27) with Rashid Khan hitting back-to-back sixes off the final two deliveries bowled by Marco Jansen to win the game for his team.

GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first as SRH made full use of the batting friendly pitch by piling up 195/6 in their 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma (65), Aiden Markram (56) and Shashank Singh (25* in 6 balls) ensured the 'Orange Army' put up an above par total. Mohammad Shami bowled well for 3/39.

In reply, Wriddhiman Saha (68) played outstandingly well but rest of the GT top order batters couldn't cope up with the express pace of Umran Malik as he went on to pick his maiden five-wicket haul in IPL and competitive cricket. He clocked speeds over 145 kmph consistently and touched top speed of 152.9 kmph with a searing yorker to Saha to get rid of the wicketkeeper-batter.

Eventually Umran finished with figures 5/25, picking up all five GT wickets to fall - Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha, Hardik Pandya, David Miller and Abhinav Manohar in what was one of the most furious spells of fast bowling ever seen in the tournament's history. He also became only the fifth Indian uncapped bowler to take a five-wicket haul in the cash-rich league.

Rahul Tewatia (40*) and Rashid Khan (31*) added an unbeaten 59-run partnership as they snatched the game away from SRH once Umran's lethal spell ended, including 25 in the final over off Jansen with 22 runs needed. However, Umran Malik was rewarded for his spell as he was named the Player-of-the-Match despite SRH's defeat.
