IPL 2022: ‘I'm all good’- DC’s Mitchell Marsh gives an update on his COVID situation

Six members of DC contingent tested COVID positive last week.

Mitchell Marsh played one match for DC | BCCI-IPLDelhi Capitals’ (DC) all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has given an update on his COVID situation. He was one of the six DC members to test positive in the past week, including New Zealand’s Tim Seifert and physio Patrick Farhart.

After them, Ricky Ponting, the DC coach also went into isolation with his family after a family member tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the Australian coach to miss his IPL side's match on Friday night. He will have to remain in isolation for five days given he was a close contact.

However, Marsh was the only one to be hospitalized for the infection but said on Friday the move was purely precautionary and he expects to return to action in the coming days.

"I'm all good. I've had just the standard COVID symptoms so it certainly wasn't my choice to go to the hospital the other night. I'm all sweet so hopefully, I'll be back playing some cricket in a couple of days,” he told SEN.

"It was a case of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and my franchise Delhi Capitals just looking after me, they wanted me to go there just to get checked up,” he added.

Marsh played just one match before COVID breached DC’s bio-bubble and it will be a few days before he can rejoin the team. DC lost their latest match to RR on Friday and their next match is against Kolkata on April 29.
