Kuldeep Yadav has been a revelation for  Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL 2022 tournament. He has been very consistent with the ball in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by taking wickets at crucial stages of the matches.

Former England spinner Graeme Swann believes that the support that the left-arm wrist spinner has received from the Delhi Capitals team management has helped him immensely as his mental state improved and confidence returned.

The left-arm spinner has 13 wickets in five games and is one of the tournament's top contenders for the Purple Cap.

Swann said that Kuldeep's return to form is more mental than mechanical, as the left-arm spinner is bowling with more confidence for the Delhi franchise.

“It’s the body language, the confidence, and the aura about him that has improved. He looks confident and is bowling into the wickets. When you look at a batter or a bowler who’s on top of his game, inevitably you look at the technical side of it to see what the change is," the England legend told Star Sports.

“But sometimes it’s the mental side, the game (which) is to get the best out of him. I think that has a more dramatic influence on a bowler like Kuldeep. He’s been a good bowler for many many years, you can’t suddenly become a bad or a good bowler," he added.

Recently, Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar said that the left-arm wrist spinner will make his T20I comeback for India following a good outing in IPL 2022 adding that he’s a lot quicker off the pitch which will make him even more lethal.

“He’s picking up wickets at crucial times and the fact that he’s getting wickets, that also makes his chances of a comeback in India’s T20 side stronger. The left-handed spinner can bowl a very well disguised googly (and that makes him dangerous). He’s a lot flatter, earlier on maybe, he was a little bit slower off the pitch, now he’s just that touch quicker which will make batting difficult against him," said Gavaskar.

Kuldeep was named the Player of the Match in DC's encounter against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) for his figures of 2/24 in 4 overs. DC will next take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday (April 22) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
