IPL 2022: We have been waiting to play at Wankhede - DC's Khaleel Ahmed ahead of the clash against RCB

DC are placed 8th on the points table with two wins out of their four matches in IPL 15 so far

Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Khaleel Ahmed expressed his excitement about facing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He also talked about his side’s preparation and remarked they've been waiting to play at the venue, where the ball swings. 

DC are having a decent campaign in IPL 2022 so far. The Rishabh Pant-led side after winning their tournament opener against Mumbai Indians (MI) lost two matches on the trot. 

However, they made a great comeback and thumped KKR by 44 runs to register their second win of the season. They are next slated to play against RCB on Saturday (16th April) and would be hoping to continue their winning run.

Talking about Khaleel, the lanky pacer has played a vital role in the team’s success so far. The left-arm pacer has altogether looked different in the ongoing league and has troubled the opposition batters. So far in three matches, he has taken 7 wickets at an economy of just over 7.

He could be a game-changer for his side in the upcoming match against RCB, considering the pace of Wankhede’s wicket and his red-hot form. 

Speaking ahead of the clash against RCB, Khaleel said that they are waiting to play at Wankhede Stadium as they can extract swing there. 

“The ball swings at the Wankhede Stadium and, therefore, we have been waiting to play there. We are excited and hopefully, we can utilize the conditions, swing the ball well and take wickets,” Khaleel Ahmed said. 

Khaleel said that he’s excited about facing the challenges against ‘good team’ RCB. He also talked about the preparations of his side for Saturday’s clash. 

“The Royal Challengers Bangalore are a good team and it’s enjoyable to play against a good team. It’s going to be challenging for us as they have good batters. But I am excited about facing the challenge.

“Our preparations are going on very well. We’ve had a long break so it’s been good for fast bowlers as we need more rest. We’ve had some sessions in the swimming pool and training sessions in the gym in the last few days,” he said.
