IPL 2022: Cricket fraternity reacts as Tripathi, Markram power SRH to dominating win over KKR

SRH chased down KKR's 175/8 with 7 wickets and 13 balls to spare.

Aiden Markram stayed unbeaten to take SRH over the line | BCCI/IPLSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) outclassed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by seven wickets in Match 25 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Friday (April 15).

Asked to bat first, KKR posted a challenging total of 175/8 on the board with significant contributions from Nitish Rana (54 off 36 balls) and Andre Russell (49* off 25 balls).

Tearaway pacer Umran Malik was the stand-out bowler for SRH, claiming two wickets by conceding 27 runs in his four overs. Left-arm pacer T Natarajan also returned with impressive figures of 3 for 37 in his four overs.

In reply, the Sunrisers rode on Rahul Tripathi’s swashbuckling 71 off 37 balls (4 fours and 6 sixes) and Aiden Markram’s unbeaten 68 off 36 balls (6 fours and 4 sixes) to overhaul the target with 13 deliveries to spare.

The pair of Tripathi and Markram was involved in a 94-run partnership for the third wicket after SRH were reduced to 39/2 inside the powerplay.

For their stunning display with the bat during the chase, Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram garnered rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
