Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have lost the services of Deepak Chahar and Rasikh Salam, respectively, for the ongoing IPL 2022 due to injuries. While Chahar, who was sold for INR 14 crore to CSK in the mega auction, could take no part at all in the season, Salam played two games before he was ruled out.
In a official media release, IPL updated on Chahar's latest injury setback, “Chennai Super Kings bowler Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 owing to a back injury.”

On Salam's injury, the statement read, “Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed fast bowler Harshit Rana as a replacement for pacer Rasikh Salam for the rest of the TATA IPL 2022 season. Salam, who played 2 games for KKR this season, has been ruled out owing to a lower back injury and will take no further part in the tournament.”
The media release also confirmed that Delhi Capitals physio Patrick Farhart has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently being monitored by the franchise's medical team.
