The 26th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will see Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Saturday (April 16).
Both the team had different starts to their IPL 2022 campaign. While the Rohit Sharma-led side has lost all their five games so far, the KL Rahul-led team has three of their five matches.
LSG will look to bag another victory in their kitty whereas MI will aim to open their winning account when both teams will square off at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Ahead of the game, Team COC presents to you the Predicted playing XIs of Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants.
Mumbai Indians (MI)
The pair of captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan may not have posted big scores regularly but they have looked threatening, and it is unlikely that the Mumbai Indians will disturb the opening combination. While Rohit has amassed 108 runs in five innings thus far, Kishan has aggregated 178 runs.
Dewald Brevis should retain his place in the playing XI after his exploits in the last game against Punjab Kings (PBSK). Batting at No. 3, the 18-year-old slammed 49 off 25 balls and forged an 84-run stand with Tilak Varma, who should hold the No. 4 spot.
Suryakumar Yadav has registered the scores of 52, 68* and 43 in his three outings in the IPL 2022 season and he will bat at No.5, followed by the dynamic all-rounder Kieron Pollard.
Murugan Ashwin has bowled exceptionally well in most of the matches and he will play as a specialist spinner, while MI might bolster their batting department by bringing batting all-rounder Fabian Allen into the line-up at the expense of bowling all-rounder Jaydev Unadkat.
Coming to the pace department, Jasprit Bumrah is likely to lead the attack alongside Riley Meredith or Tymal Mills and Basil Thampi.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
LSG are unlikely to make any changes to their playing XI despite a heartbreaking three-run loss in the last game against Rajasthan Royals.
Skipper KL Rahul and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock should hold the opening slots, followed by Krishnappa Gowtham, Jason Holder, Deepak Hooda, and Ayush Badoni. Notably, the team management might tweak the batting positions as per the match situation.
All-rounders Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis are likely to bat at No. 7 and No. 8 positions. The duo threatened to take the game away from the Royals with their stunning cameos in the previous outing.
Coming to the bowling attack, Ravi Bishnoi will play as premier spinners while Avesh Khan and Dushmantha Chameera will feature as pacers. The trio bowled exceptionally well in LSG’s narrow loss against RR.
