On Tuesday evening in Mumbai, CSK's Mukesh Choudhary gave his team a great breakthrough when he took the wicket of RCB's Virat Kohli, the dream scalp for most new bowlers during their IPL 2022 match.

The young man's night got progressively bad as CSK had a fright while defending 217 runs. In a frantic final few overs at the DY Patil Stadium, the 25-year-old from Maharashtra did not help CSK's cause by dropping two sitters.

In Dwayne Bravo's over, Mukesh dropped RCB rookie Suyash Prabhudessai who was batting on 32. Bravo was disappointed when Prabhudessai hit one straight to the left-arm bowler stationed at deep mid-wicket, but he grassed the catch.

The ball continued following Mukesh, and in the 15th over, bowled by Maheesh Theekshana, he dropped Dinesh Karthik for 6 runs.

RCB was already 5 down, and Karthik's wicket would have effectively sealed the deal for CSK at that point. Mukesh put down a dolly at backward point to deny the Sri Lankan spinner the wicket of the in-form finisher.

While Prabhudessai only contributed 2 runs following the missed catch, Karthik finished with 34 runs off 14 balls after giving CSK a major fright.

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former India batter turned analyst, took to social media following CSK's first win of the IPL 2022 season to urge Mukesh to put the disappointing evening behind him and focus on the rest of the season.

"Dear Mukesh Choudhary, what happened to you tonight is no reflection of how good or bad you are, it's an inevitability in every performer's life. All the best for the rest of the season," Manjrekar said in a tweet.

CSK ended a four-match losing streak and earned their first two points in IPL 2022, thanks to Shivam Dube's 95 not out and veteran Robin Uthappa's 88. CSK's star bowlers were Maheesh Theekshana (4/33) and Ravindra Jadeja (3/39).
