Australia’s swashbuckling opener David Warner has joined the Delhi Capitals (DC) camp and is looking forward to representing his very first IPL franchise, once more in the ongoing IPL 2022.

Warner is available for selection for the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) next match in the ongoing IPL 2022 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), to be played on Thursday, April 7, at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. Notably, he started his IPL career with DC back in 2009 when it was known as the Delhi Daredevils.

The southpaw is looking forward to learning the one-handed shots from his young Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper, Rishabh Pant, during his stint with the franchise in the ongoing IPL 2022.

Warner said in a statement: “I want to learn how to play the one-handed shots from Rishabh. He's a young guy learning the ropes of leadership and he has been an integral part of the Indian team as well. I am excited and I can't wait to be bat with him in the middle.”

Speaking about the opportunity to work with the DC head coach Ricky Ponting, the opener said: “Ricky has had a fair bit of success with DC. He was a great leader for Australia and now he has a lot of respect as a coach. I am looking forward to working with him.”

Warner also stressed that the DC needs to play a complete game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday.

He signed off by saying, “We just need to put our best foot forward and play a complete game. Fielding is the biggest component of the game and if we can hold our catches and field as well as we can, then we can go a long way in this tournament.”
