Rajasthan Royals (RR) have made a statement in the IPL 2022 by thrashing Mumbai Indians in their latest match. RR has back-to-back wins in the ongoing season of the cash-rich T20 league, as many projected the inaugural winners to go all the way after assembling a formidable squad at the big auction.
RR has one of the strongest bowling assaults in the world, with R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal bowling in tandem and Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna bowling in the powerplay. Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, and Shimron Hetmyer are taking care of the batting side of things.
The whole batting and bowling groups cooperated to keep the Rohit Sharma-led team at bay on Saturday against the five-time champions. Jos Buttler, the Royals' opening batter, scored his second century in the IPL, and first of IPL 2022 as he and hard-hitter Shimron Hetmyer helped the Royals reach a score of 193 runs.

In response, Mumbai Indians was bowled out for 23 runs by Ashwin (who dismissed Tilak Varma) and Chahal (two wickets in two deliveries).
Following the game, Buttler and Chahal, two of the game's heroes, had a humorous talk for the official IPL website. The two also discussed Chahal's ongoing joke about his desire to open the batting alongside Buttler, which he began combining with RR's social media crew.
Chahal questioned Buttler, who was batting at No. 8 or 9, if he felt secure opening the batting because he was batting at No. 8 or 9.
Buttler too was quick to respond in a cheeky manner saying, "Absolutely! Ever since you turned up this year, you have been putting pressure on the opening spot. Have to take my time to score some runs to keep you on the outside."
Before signing off, Chahal made sure to remind everyone that RR would play his previous team Royal Challengers Bangalore in a very important match on April 5.
