Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) speedster Umesh Yadav is in great form in the ongoing IPL 2022. Currently, the Indian pacer is the purple cap holder in the ongoing IPL 2022 with 8 wickets from 3 matches.

He has played all three matches for the franchise in IPL 2022 so far and has played a key role in taking KKR to the top of the IPL 2022 points table with two wins so far in the ongoing tournament.

On April 1, Umesh scalped four wickets to help KKR beat PBKS by 6 wickets in their third match at Wankhede Stadium in the ongoing IPL 2022. The pacer was adjudged Player of the Match for the second time in his three outings for the KKR in the tournament.

However, despite being in great form with the ball and being a match-winner for the KKR in the ongoing IPL 2022, Umesh Yadav said that he needs to work hard as he is getting older.

Umesh Yadav said in a post-match presentation: “I need to work hard, getting older; and when you know you play just one format, I look to bowl as much as possible. When someone improves at practice, they do well during the match as well.”

He added, “Whatever is happening now, has been because of what I have practiced with my coaches. If you bowl at 140 kmph, you need to be accurate; you need to bowl at the stumps.”

PBKS captain Mayank Agarwal (1) lost his wicket in the very first over to Yadav, but the KKR pacer doesn’t think his India teammate played him aggressively.

He concluded, “I didn't think Mayank would charge at me on his first ball. He has played me a lot in the nets...I knew he would play off the back foot, and that's where I looked to bowl on a fuller length.”
