IPL 2022: Match 10, GT v DC - COC Predicted Playing XIs

Both the teams won their IPL 2022 opening encounter with DC beating MI and GT defeating LSG.

DC beat MI and GT defeated LSG in their respective IPL 2022 openers | BCCI-IPLThe 10th match of the ongoing IPL 2022 will see Gujarat Titans (GT) clashing with Delhi Capitals (DC) aiming to continue their winning runs given that both teams won their first matches respectively. This encounter will be played at the MHCA Stadium in Pune on April 2, 2022.

Gujarat Titans got out of a pickle thanks to Rahul Tewatia and David Miller in their IPL debut clash against the Lucknow Super Giants. The Hardik Pandya-led side came out victors and lodged their first points on the IPL 2022 points table. With another win in mind, they might think of tinkering with their playing XI.

Meanwhile, the DC side also saw a heist of a kind, when Akshar Patel and Lalit Yadav chased down a stiff total from Mumbai Indians at Brabourne in their first match of the tournament. However, the DC side was playing with only two foreign players and now with more overseas players available, the Rishabh Pant-led side might go for a better-balanced XI.

Keeping this in mind, here is the COC Predicted Playing XIs for the GT v DC match in Pune.

GUJARAT TITANS

Shubman Gill might not have done much in the GT’s debut IPL game, but he is a class player and will eventually get into the run-making mode. Matthew Wade will be expected to exploit the 6-over powerplay, while Gill anchors the innings.

Vijay Shankar at no.3 is just the batter one wants if early wickets are lost, given his technically proficient gameplay. Hardik Pandya, David Miller, and Abhinav Manohar displayed what they can do when it came to big-hitting under pressure situations.

Rashid Khan will have a big role to play with the ball | BCCI-IPLRahul Tewatia might not have been asked to bowl, however, Tewatia with the bat has the license to tear apart the opposition as a finisher.

Hardik Pandya bowled his four full overs, which would have enthralled his fans and Indian team management.

Rashid Khan has a given role and he is expected to be amongst the wickets at a good economy rate.

Lockie Ferguson and Mohammad Shami were amongst the wickets and gave away fewer runs, doing what the captain and coach would have expected of them. However, Varun Aaron might need to neaten up a bit when it comes to his economy, as he showed his pace can get him wickets at will.

DELHI CAPITALS

DC played a humdinger of a match against MI in their IPL 2022 opening bout. Both openers Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert did amazingly well at the top and expect Seifert to continue in the role until David Warner becomes available.

Both Mandeep Singh and captain Rishabh Pant’s stay at the crease was a short one and expect better performances from them in the GT encounter. Lalit Yadav and Akshar Patel might not have done very well with the ball, but they won the match with the bat at least and given their talent, expect them to take wickets as well against GT.

Kuldeep Yadav will pose some problems to GT batters | BCCI-IPLRovman Powell also has a lot to prove given his price tag and performance ratio. Shardul Thakur and Khaleel Ahmed might be joined in the pace department by either Mustafizur Rahman if DC wants variety and death overs expertise, or Lungi Ngidi, if DC wants more pace.

Kuldeep Yadav did an excellent job with the ball against MI, but this time he will be up against big hitters like Hardik, Tewatia, Miller, and Manohar and it will be a tough ask to contain them.
