Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen and Australia's legendary spinner Shane Warne have made predictions for the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) winner. Both the cricketers picked Delhi Capitals (DC) as the winner of the ongoing tournament in UAE.
Delhi has been very consistent with their performance this season; having lost only two matches so far in nine matches. They are on the verge to qualify for the playoffs.
Pietersen, in a video posted on Twitter, said that DC should comfortably win the tournament this season with such a strong squad. "If Delhi Capitals don't win this year's IPL, then I have got absolutely no idea," he said.
"They should walk it home. They have such good player on the bench and their first team is incredible," he added.
On the other hand, Warne posted a tweet expressing excitement for a day filled with sports events. He mentioned IPL in his tweet and added that Delhi are going to lift their first title this season.
"Morning from London followers. What a day of sport is ahead. First the @AFL grand final (come on the bulldogs). Then the @rydercup (come on Europe) followed by the @IPL (I think Delhi will win it this year) and finishing the day off we have the boxing (come on @anthonyjoshua)," he tweeted.
Delhi are led by Rishabh Pant this season after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the first phase due to a shoulder injury. He continued to captain the side in the second phase despite Iyer's return.
