Even though Delhi Capitals (DC) got off to a winning start to this UAE-leg of this ongoing 14th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), their allrounder Marcus Stoinis suffered an injury scare.
Stoinis, who was seen in discomfort while bowling against SRH, will undergo scans later on Thursday.
The 32-year-old has been named in Australia’s 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup to be held in UAE and Oman in October-November is expected to play a key role in the upcoming ICC showpiece event after missing tours of the West Indies and Bangladesh.

The right-arm quick pulled up after bowling his seventh ball of the game and took no further part in the game. DC had earlier said that Stoinis suffered a calf injury but cricket.com.au, later on, reported that it was a left hamstring strain.
A DC spokesperson told Reuters on Thursday that Stoinis would go for a scan to determine the extent of the injury later in the day.
The match between SRH and DC went ahead as scheduled on Wednesday (September 22) despite pacer T Natarajan’s COVID-19 diagnosis hours before the contest.
As far as the match is concerned, it was an all-round performance from Rishabh Pant and Co. as firstly the bowlers restricted SRH batters for a paltry 92 in their quota of 20 overs, and thanks to fantastic knocks by Dhawan, Iyer, and Pant, DC won the match comfortably with 13 balls to spare.
With yet another win under their belt, the Rishabh Pant-led franchise occupied the top spot on the points table with 14 points to their name in 9 matches played.
