MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pulled off an amazing comeback win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the UAE-leg opener of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
From being 24/4 in the first 6 overs, CSK went on to get 156 runs and registered a 20-run win over the defending champions.
During this epic match between the two most successful teams in IPL history, the Chennai-based franchise faced a couple of injury concerns in batsman Ambati Rayudu and pacer Deepak Chahar.
While Rayudu was retired hurt after being hit on the arm by MI quick Adam Milne delivery, Chahar on the other hand was seen struggling while bowling his last over at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

As fans and experts were expecting these two to be rested for the team’s next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told ANI that Rayudu's X-ray reports show no fracture and also revealed that Chahar is also fit and the duo will be available for the RCB game.
“His X-ray report showed no fracture and considering we have a few days before we play the next game against RCB, he should be available for selection,” Viswanathan told ANI.
When asked about Chahar, the CEO pointed out that it was nothing serious and just cramps as he said, “Just cramps, nothing more to it.”
As far as CSK are concerned, thanks to opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad’s unbeaten 88 which included 9 boundaries and 4 maximums bailed his team out and took the Chennai-based franchise to a competitive 156/6 in their quota of 20 overs.
With this 20-run win over the five-time champions MI, CSK has become the table toppers of IPL 2021 with 6 wins to their name and tipping over Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) on the basis of net run-rate as both teams have 12 points under their belt.
