The Taliban has taken full control of Afghanistan two decades after they were removed by the US military.
The surprising collapse of the Afghanistan government has triggered fear and panic among the Afghani people after Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country and the Taliban is all set to soon declare a new ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’.
This has led to a severe humanitarian crisis in the country with thousands and thousands of Afghani nationals trying to flee the country fearing the tough Islamic law set to be imposed by the Taliban in the country.

Amid the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) is tracking the developments in regards to Afghani players Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi – both play for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – to take part in the second phase of the IPL 2021 in the UAE.
“It is too early to comment but we are keeping a watch. For us, nothing changes and we expect Rashid and other Afghan players would be part of IPL,” a BCCI source told PTI.
Rashid and Nabi are currently in the United Kingdom, competing in the ongoing The 'Hundred' tournament, where they are representing Trent Rockets and London Spirits respectively.
SRH too provided an update on the two Afghanistani players' participation in the second leg of the IPL 2021 and the franchise has confirmed that both Rashid and Nabi will be part of the remainder of the 14th edition of the league.
"We haven't spoken on what is happening at present, but they are available for the tournament," the CEO of SRH, K Shanmugam, told ANI.
When asked about the departure of the team for the UAE, he said: "We are leaving at the end of the month, August 31."
Last month, the BCCI announced the schedule for the remainder of the IPL 2021, which will be held in the UAE. A total of 31 matches will be played in the duration of 27 days.
The 14th season of the IPL, which was postponed earlier this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume on September 19 in Dubai with a blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
