Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has said that it is now willing to give Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman the no-objection certificate (NOC) for participating in the second half of the IPL 2021. BCB had earlier denied permission to the two players as they were expected to remain with the Bangladesh team.
Bangladesh was scheduled to play England in September which clash with IPL 2021 in UAE and the decision comes after the series was rescheduled to March 2023.
''Yes, if they apply and if we don't have any international commitment they can go and take part in IPL. We are yet to receive any official letter from them in this regard and if we get that, the board will take a decision,'' BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan told Cricbuzz.
Shakib Al Hasan represents Kolkata Knight Riders and had a disappointing first half of the season. He played three matches and scored 38 runs at a strike rate of 97.43. Additionally, he managed to pick just two wickets at an economy of 8.1 runs per over.
Mustafizur Rahman had to do the heavy lifting for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the absence of Jofra Archer. He picked up eight wickets in seven matches with best bowling figures of 3/20 and will once again be the key pacer for his franchise.
