England's white-ball team captain Eoin Morgan has confirmed his availability for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming second phase of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19 to October 15.

England's limited-overs tour to Bangladesh has been postponed to March 2023, which allows Morgan to play in the IPL 2021.

Speaking after London Spirit's match in the Hundred at Lord's on Tuesday (August 3), Morgan, as per ESPNcricinfo, said with T20 World Cup 2021 to be played in UAE after IPL, it's going to be a win-win situation either way for them.

"It's a completely individual decision. I think it was a win-win either way. If we went to Bangladesh we'd play in conditions that are foreign to us. If some guys go to the IPL, they'll play in similar conditions [to the World Cup] or for guys that need a rest, they take a rest.

"We have a lot of cricket to play between now and then. We've planned on the tour going ahead -- that's been part of our planning for a long time now -- but equally, given the nature in which we now compete and live our lives, it's not a bad thing for guys to either take time off or go to the IPL if they feel refreshed and have enough energy," Morgan, the captain of Knight Riders, said.

Earlier, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had confirmed the participation of their cricketers in the IPL 2021's second leg.

Speaking to ANI, sources in the know of developments said, "The English players will be available for the resumption of the IPL in the UAE. The BCCI has the green signal. This shows the brilliant working relationship that the secretary has with not just the ECB, but also the BCB."
