Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is likely to miss the services of its premier pacer Pat Cummins when the IPL 2021 resumes in the UAE from September 19.

The IPL 14 will resume on September 19 with Chennai Super Kings taking on Mumbai Indians in Dubai after the cash-rich tournament was forced to postpone in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, August 3, Cummins has hinted that he is unlikely to travel to the UAE to take part in the remainder of the IPL 2021 as he wants to be with his pregnant partner and their baby is due in the middle of the T20 tournament.

However, the Australian pacer hasn’t yet made an official call on opting out, but admitted it will be “tough” to travel to the UAE for the league especially due to quarantine rules.

Cummins said on his YouTube channel: “Unfortunately, at this stage, I probably won't be going to the IPL. I haven't made an official call on it. But my partner is pregnant and our baby is due in the middle of the IPL.”

The pacer added, “At the moment, there is a travel restriction to get back to Australia, you got to do 2 weeks quarantine. There is probably going to be some days quarantine going to UAE. So it's going to be tough to go and play there.”

Noteworthy, sources have said that BCCI has received confirmation from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) about the England players' participation in the remainder of the IPL 2021.
