India pacer Prasidh Krishna, who represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the suspended 2021 edition of IPL, has been tested positive for COVID-19.
He is the fourth KKR player to contract the deadly virus after Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier and Tim Seifert.

"He [Prasidh Krishna] is down with COVID-19. The results have come in and he tested positive," sources in the know of developments told news agency ANI.
The BCCI on Friday (May 7) named Krishna as one of the standby players for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final as well as the five-match Test series against England.
Earlier on Saturday (May 8), Seifert returned positive for COVID-19 and missed the charter flight back home with other New Zealand players and support staff.
In a statement, NZC chief executive David White said that he is confident Seifert will receive the best medical care in India.
“It’s really unfortunate for Tim and we’ll do everything for him that we can from this end, and hopefully he will be able to test negative, and be cleared and approved for discharge as soon as he’s well again," he said.
“Since receiving the news, we’ve organised support for Tim and have also – via the players association, been in contact with his family to ensure they’re kept fully informed and updated on developments," he added.
On Monday (May 3), Chakravarthy and Warrier tested positive for COVID-19 and as a result, the match between KKR and RCB couldn’t take place.
Afterwards, positive cases were also reported in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) contingent, leading to the suspension of IPL 14 with immediate effect.
"The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting has unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect," BCCI had said in a media release.
"The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff and the other participants involved in organising the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, health and well-being of all the stakeholders in mind."
