Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were having a great season in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) as they were unbeaten in the tournament for the first four games and had 5 wins in the 7 games they played before the league was indefinitely suspended.
While RCB’s batting looked really good this year, skipper Kohli himself did not get the big runs as he could only muster 198 runs in 7 games at an average of 33 and a strike rate of 121.47.
Even though the right-hand batsman was not amongst the runs this season, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan feels skipper Kohli will be happier than batsman Kohli.
“If you talk about this season, Virat Kohli the captain will be happier than Virat Kohli the batsman. The way the entire team has responded, the way the combination of Virat Kohli and Mike Hesson has worked, and the hard work they put in for the auction,” Pathan told Star Sports.

The former left-arm seamer then talked about how RCB fans will be a little disappointed after the suspension of the league as their favourite team was doing so well, and AB de Villiers was looking so good.
“Where the tournament has stopped, the RCB fans will be a little disappointed because AB de Villiers was in good form, Maxwell was in good form, the team was doing very well, the bowling was very good,” the 36-year-old said.
“It was about to be 'Ee Sala Cup Namde' for them, at least from the fan's perspective, so it is expected that they will be a little disappointed but it has been a good year for them till now,” he added.
