IPL 2021: Ravindra Jadeja can finish games like Pollard, Hardik or De Villiers, opines Scott Styris

Styris also called Jadeja the best fielder in the world

Ravindra Jadeja | BCCI/IPLTeam India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had a great IPL 2021 as he contributed for his team with bat, ball as well as with his gun fielding before the league got suspended indefinitely.

Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris who was impressed with Jadeja’s fielding called him the current best fielder in the world along with Australian Glenn Maxwell.

I can tell you from a foreigner's perspective, I could never understand any of the criticism that came his (Ravindra Jadeja's) way. He is a terrific cricketer, he can do absolutely everything at the top highest level,Styris told Star Sports.

IPL 2021: "Kieron Pollard probably played his best innings in the IPL," says CSK coach Stephen Fleming

I love his fielding ability. Along with, say a Glenn Maxwell, I think he is probably the best fielder in the world at the moment. And you always separate yourself from your ability to throw the stumps down and affect those run-outs. I think that's where he is better than everybody else,” he added.

Styris then talked about Jadeja’s batting abilities and how the left-hand explosive batsman has the potential to finish games like Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard or AB de Villiers.

I have been calling it since last year. I thought CSK needed to move him up the order and I am glad it happened this year because he is just that good. He has the ability to be a genuine batsman and then use that power at the end to close games, like a Pollard, like a Hardik Pandya, like an AB de Villiers,” the 45-year-old said.

The BCCI and IPL governing council had to suspend the league after players and members of support staff tested positive for COVID-19 in their bio-bubble.
