Star India, the official broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has on Tuesday (May 4) supported the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to suspend IPL 2021 for the health and safety of everyone following the Coronavirus surge in its bio-bubble.

On Tuesday, the IPL 2021 came to an abrupt halt with the BCCI and IPL Governing Council deciding to suspend the 14th season midway through the league stage after several players and support staff tested positive for COVID-19. The new window for the remaining IPL 14 games will be worked out later on.

The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff, and the other participants involved in organizing the IPL 2021 following the COVID-19 outbreak inside bio-bubble.
