In the wake of COVID-19 cases at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) camp, it has come to light that the entire Delhi Capitals (DC) contingent is self-isolating in their hotel rooms.
DC and KKR had faced each other last Thursday (April 29) and both the teams are due to lock horns once again on May 8.
"We have been self-isolating in our rooms since this afternoon," sources within the DC camp confirmed to ANI.
On Monday (May 3), the IPL match between Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had to be postponed after the KKR duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for COVID-19.
"Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be positive in the third round of testing in the last four days. All other team members have tested negative for COVID-19," the IPL said in a media release.
As per the statement put out by the IPL, both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and is monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest.
Meanwhile, reports of two COVID-19 positive cases also emerged from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp on Monday evening.
Confirming the development, a BCCI official told ANI: “The contingent has two COVID-19 positive cases. A support staff member has tested positive and a bus cleaner. Cannot give you the name of the support staff. The team's training session has been cancelled as a precautionary measure."
It is believed that bowling coach L Balaji was one of the two CSK members to test positive for COVID-19, along with a bus cleaner.
Chennai Super Kings are slated to take on Rajasthan Royals in their next match on Wednesday (May 5).
