Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Jos Buttler was at his best as he scored his maiden T20 ton (124) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 28 of this ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) which helped the Royals to reach 220 in their quota of 20 overs.
Buttler’s amazing knock was one of the reasons behind RR registering a 55-run win over the Hyderabad-based franchise. Buttler’s teammate Chris Morris was in awe after watching the right-hand batsman bat.
“Those knocks don't come around very often. We have been very fortunate in this tournament to see such knocks and this one was right up there. The way he paced his innings, the way he showed his hitting at the end was amazing,” he told ANI.
When asked about RR’s bowling innings, Morris said, “The first six overs weren't as fun. But we knew that they would come out there playing their shots so we just had to sustain and take our chances. There was a bit of tail and it is difficult to keep reversing when the ball keeps getting hit into the stands.”
“Just in general, it was a very good team performance. There was some assistance when we took pace off and rolled our fingers. We knew if we hit good areas a lot of balls would be in the air,” the all-rounder added.
IPL 2021: RR hammer SRH by 55 runs; Morris, Mustafizur pick three wickets each
After the win over SRH, the Rajasthan-based franchise is scheduled to take on three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday (5 May) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
While talking about taking on MS Dhoni and Co, the South African said, “CSK are flying high. They lost last night but they are a very good team. They beat us quite comfortably in Mumbai and we have to be at our best if we want to beat them.”
