IPL 2021: Three members of CSK contingent test COVID-19 positive; all the players test negative

L Balaji is one of the three CSK members to test COVID-19 positive | CSK TwitterAs if the news of two Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players testing positive for the COVID-19 virus wasn’t enough in the ongoing IPL 2021, further grim news revealed that three members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have also tested COVID-19 positive.

As per ESPNCricinfo reports, three members of the Chennai Super Kings' IPL contingent - chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan, bowling coach L Balaji and a bus cleaner - have tested positive for Covid-19.

It is also understood that none of the players of the CSK team, which is in Delhi, has tested positive. The results emerged after the latest round of testing on Sunday.

It is understood that Viswanathan, Balaji, and the member of the maintenance staff took a fresh test on Monday morning to rule out the possibility of a false positive. If it is reestablished that they are positive, the trio would need to undergo 10 days of isolation in a designated isolation facility outside the team bubble and return two negative tests before re-entering.

Recently the 30th match of the IPL 2021 between KKR and RCB was postponed after Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier of KKR tested positive for the deadly virus.

Apart from this, it was also reported that 5 members of the Arun Jaitley Stadium staff have also tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
