IPL 2021: Rishabh Pant says DC will try a few things when they play in Kolkata

Delhi Capitals chased down PBKS' 166 with 14 balls to spare.

Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant said that his side might try a few things more in the upcoming Kolkata leg as they completed comfortable victor over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an IPL 2021 encounter. 

Delhi Capitals crushed Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 7 wickets in their eight-match of IPL 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium to go on the top of the points table. 

Invited to bat first, a fighting unbeaten 99 by PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal propelled his side to a decent total of 166 runs. The skipper carried his bat throughout the innings and was the lone fighter as other batsmen failed to get going. 

Chasing the target DC openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan gave their a side fiery start, scoring 63 runs for the opening partnership. However, after the wicket Shaw, the veteran opener played an unbeaten knock of 62 runs and helped Rishabh Pant-led side complete their sixth win of the season.

Talking about the win at the post-match presentation, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant lauded openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw for a fantastic start and said that it feels great when the team gets a good start in every match. 

"Shikhar and Prithvi gave us a very good start. In the first innings, the ball was gripping, and even in the second innings, it was slow but the way they started was commendable. It feels so good when you have a great start in every match," Rishabh Pant said during the post-match presentation. 

Pant further said that they will try few things when they will play matches in Kolkata. He added that he’s enjoying his captaincy as he’s learning every day and every one is helping him. 

"Most of the things are sorted but we need to try a few things for the Kolkata leg. The competition is very good, it's difficult we can make everyone play. I am enjoying captaincy, learning each and every day. Everyone is helping me," he said. 

With this win, Delhi Capitals has moved to the first spot in the points table with 12 points. They will next face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 8th May and then the Rishabh Pant-led side will shift their base to Kolkata.
