Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had a good game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) as they ended their four-match losing streak and registered their second win of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) campaign on Monday (26 April).
KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy who picked 1/24 in his quota of 4 overs said that dew played on his mind and that ball slipped out of his hand during the match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
“In the last ten overs, dew really starting setting in and there’s a lot of dew. It was really tough to grip the ball, few balls were slipping and we had to dry the ball each and every ball,” Chakravarthy said after PBKS innings.

“I make sure that I dry the ball so that I can grip and I can bowl anything I want. But still it does play in the mind that there’s too much dew and slipping, so sometimes it can slip out,” he added.
The right-arm spinner who is known to bowl mystery spin revealed that he is working on a new mystery ball as he said, “I am working on it, let’s see, if conditions help me, I’ll use it. I need a dry ball for that.”
After a comfortable win over PBKS, the Kolkata-based franchise has reached fifth spot on the points table. The next match for the two-time champions is against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Friday (30 April) at the same venue in Ahmedabad.
