Amit Mishra took four wickets against MI | BCCI/IPL

Delhi Capitals (DC) co-owner Parth Jindal while lauding veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra for his heroics against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the match 13 of IPL 2021 said that if IPL teams are ever allowed to put up statues outside their home stadiums, Amit Mishra will get his outside the Delhi stadium.

Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians in their fourth match of IPL 14 at Chennai and moved to second spot in the points tables.

Invited to bowl, DC were looking all set to chase a mammoth target as MI were cruising at 67 for 1 in the seventh over.

However, introduction of Amit Mishra saw defending champions tumbling as leg-spinner returned with the figures of 4/24 and helped Rishabh Pant-led franchise restrict MI to 137 after a solid start.

Apart from his heroics against MI, Amit Mishra has three IPL hat-tricks to his name and is also the second-highest wicket-taker in the history of the marquee tournament scalping 164 wickets from 152 matches.

"If IPL teams are ever allowed to put up statues outside their home stadiums by the @BCCI and state cricket bodies - there is no doubt in my mind that the first statue that will go up for us @DelhiCapitals will be that of @MishiAmit - what a wonderful player he has been for Delhi!" Parth Jindal Tweeted.

The Rishabh Pant-led side will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday 25th April at Chennai.
