IPL 2021: Rohit Sharma wears specially designed 'Save the Corals' shoes against SRH

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma sported specially designed shoes to spread social awareness in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday (April 17). His shoes had a message to save coral reefs which read 'Save the corals'.

Rohit took to Twitter and shared the pictures along with a three-tweet long thread. Earlier, he was seen spreading a message to save the Rhinos in an earlier match of MI. 

"Our reefs are the heart and souls of our oceans. Nothing makes me happier than a healthy reef. My love for the ocean cannot be put into words and saving it will forever be my cause," he wrote.

Sharing another tweet, Rohit added that he was afraid of the ocean before learning about them. "I was afraid of the ocean at the start but as I learnt more about it and all the amazing marine life it houses and the massive role it plays for our survival, I fell in love instantly," he added.

Rohit further wrote protecting our oceans could protecting our future, "Even the tiniest change in our mindset, in our activities or in our understanding of what we can do to help will have a massive ripple effect on our environment. Protecting our oceans means protecting our future."

Talking about the MI and SRH's clash, the latter lost the match by 13 runs. It was the second win for Mumbai and they are now at the top of the table after the 9th match of IPL 2021.
