IPL 2021: Shah Rukh Khan apologizes to all KKR fans after a 'disappointing' performance vs MI

KKR failed to get 31 runs in the last 5 overs.

Mumbai Indians (MI) made it 22-6 in total 28 matches against KKR in IPL history | BCCI/IPL

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had a terrible outing last night (13 April) as the team failed to chase down a target of 153 runs set by the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI).

Even the co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was disappointed by his team’s performance and took to Twitter to apologize to all the fans.

The game was in KKR’s favor as they won the toss elected to field and managed to restrict MI’s batting line-up to a considerably low total of 152 runs.

IPL 2021: Cricket fraternity stunned as KKR fail to chase MI’s 152 despite a strong start

Even the openers Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill gave a good start to the chase but it all certainly went downhill after that as the Eoin Morgan-led side failed to get 31 runs in the last 5 overs.

It was a great exhibition of death bowling from the defending champions as they kept their cool and their bowlers bowled really tight lines to eventually win the game and make it 22 to 6 in the total of 28 matches the two sides have played in the IPL history.

After this great win, Rohit Sharma and his men will be taking on David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 17 April, whereas the next assignment for KKR is Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 18 April at the same venue in Chennai.
