IPL 2021: Cricket fraternity lauds Suresh Raina as he slams 36-ball 54 to take CSK to 188/7 against DC

Raina looked in great touch in his comeback match for CSK.

Suresh Raina | BCCI/IPLChennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are facing each other in the second game of IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday (April 10).

Invited to bat first, CSK got off to a terrible start as they lost both their openers – Ruturaj Gaikwad (5) and Faf du Plessis (0) – cheaply. The duo of Moeen Ali and Suresh Raina added 53 runs for the second wicket to bail the team out of trouble.

R Ashwin broke the partnership by removing Ali for 36 but Raina held the one end firmly. The southpaw shared a 63-run stand for the fourth wicket with Ambati Rayudu (23) to put CSK in a strong position. In the process, Raina also completed his half-century in 32 deliveries.

While Raina got run-out for 54 off 36 balls, his innings ensured that CSK finish their innings on a high. In the death overs, the pair of Ravindra Jadeja (26* off 17 balls) and Sam Curran (34 off 15 balls) took the DC attack to the cleaners, stitching a 51-run partnership in 27 deliveries to take Chennai to 188/7 in 20 overs.

For his sensational fifty on IPL comeback, Suresh Raina garnered rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
