The most successful IPL team, Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma has the vision for IPL 2021 clear in his mind. MI are going to kick off the season with a clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9.

Speaking in a video for Mumbai Indians, Rohit said that the team is looking to play some exciting cricket this season and they will be continuing where they left in Dubai. MI are the defending champions and they have won two consecutive IPL titles.

“The feeling in the camp is absolutely electric and upbeat. It is the start of a new season and we all know that. The guys are very excited to get going and we have got some new faces in the squad as well, which is exciting.

“The IPL is always an exciting time. And coming off from playing a lot of cricket as well, so yes looking forward to get going. I think it is going to be a good one this year as well. Hopefully, we can do the right things, we can continue from where we left in Dubai,” he said.

Rohit spoke about his teammates and the New Zealand trio of Jimmy Neesham, Adam Milne, and Trent Boult. He credited Boult for playing an important role in MI's title win last year.

“I am pretty sure they are all excited to get out on the park. They have been in quarantine for 7 days and I know how it feels when you come out the first day, it is nice to just get to breather fresh air. To get to be on the park and do what you love to do.

“I am sure those three guys are feeling the same. It is good to have Jimmy Neesham for the first time in MI squad. Adam Milne has been part of MI before as well, it is good to have him in the squad too."

Boult was the second-highest wicket-taker for MI in IPL 2020, and third overall with 25 wickets. “And of course, Trent (Boult), who played a big part for us in the last season. We expect nothing less from him this year as well,” he added.
