IPL 2021: “Either pick players from city, or remove Hyderabad from name,” TRS MLA warns Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL team | PTITRS MLA and former minister Danam Nagender has warned the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), that if they do not include any player from Hyderabad city, then they won’t allow any IPL matches to be played at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad.

He sought the team should accommodate local players or “remove the name of our city from Sunrisers Hyderabad.”

Nagender also showed displeasure on the IPL auction as it denied a chance to any cricketer from Hyderabad. The former minister sought that the team selections should have included cricketers from the city as it has “many players of talent”.

Either they should select players from our city or remove Hyderabad from the team name.,” he said to Hans Media.

The MLA also said that there are many talented players in Hyderabad and not getting any chances in IPL is not a good thing. He further added that Australia’s David Warner is not suitable to lead the SRH team.

Apart from him, former India captain and current president of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), Mohammad Azharuddin also showed disappointment at no Hyderabad player being present in the Sunrisers Hyderabad team.
