IPL 2021: Kings XI Punjab likely to change name and logo; Twitterati offer suggestions

Kings XI Punjab have failed to win a single title in last 13 seasons of IPL.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are likely to change their team name and logo before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 player auction. The Preity Zinta-owned franchise will get a new look to start afresh in the next season.

Last year, Punjab were very close to making it to the playoffs but ended up finishing on the sixth position. KXIP have failed to win a single title and their best performance in a season came in 2014 when they made it to the final, but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders.

After the news of KXIP's change in name and logo, fans on Twitter came up with few interesting suggestions for the franchise. Some of them were hilarious.

There are chances KXIP will announce the new name and logo before February 17. The IPL 2021 Auction is all set to take place in Chennai on 18th February.

Kings XI Punjab have a balance of INR 53.2 crore in their purse. They released heavy priced-players like Glenn Maxwell (10.75) and West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell (8.5 crores). A total of 16 players were retained by them.
