Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh had missed the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. He was part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad but decided to opt out of the tournament, citing personal reasons.
Talking to Cricbuzz, Harbhajan said he's eyeing a return to IPL and has registered his name for the upcoming auction. He was released by CSK ahead of the auction.
“I am looking forward to the IPL, I am preparing hard for it. Even last year, I was keen on playing but because of the pandemic, I could not. I needed to be around my family. At that stage I thought skipping IPL was the right decision,” he told Cricbuzz.

Apart from Harbhajan, Suresh Raina didn't take part in the IPL 2020 for CSK. Raina had travelled to UAE but returned home before the tournament.
The 40-year-old has put his name in the auction with a base price of INR 2 crores. Harbhajan last played a competitive cricket match back in IPL 2019 for CSK.
The experienced off-spinner believes he still has a lot to offer. “There is a lot of cricket left in me, very much. Fitness-wise, I am quite fit, I worked hard on my fitness during the lockdown. Unfortunately, I could not do anything (participate in the IPL). I am looking forward to be on the park again and doing what I can do best,” he added.
