The five-time and current defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are known for keeping their core players with them across years. In the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the franchise has had up a good number of players forming the crux of the side, which has helped them win title after title.

However, with IPL 2021 auction looming, MI also decided to submit their list of retained and released players to the BCCI and IPL GC and prepare for the upcoming auction.
