IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals – List of players retained and released

DC retained 19 and let go as many as 6 players.

Delhi Capitals | IANSThe fever of IPL 2021 has begun with all the eight franchises announcing their retained and released players for the upcoming edition. The retained players won’t be part of the auction, scheduled to take place next month.

The latest team to reveal the list is Delhi Capitals, retaining 19 and releasing as many as 6 players from their last year’s squad.

“The players who have been retained by the franchise from their last season's Runners-Up finish include Indian internationals Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin, along with Harshal Patel, Lalit Yadav, Pravin Dubey and Avesh Khan,” DC said in a media release.

“Delhi Capitals have also retained six overseas players which include last season's Purple Cap winner Kagiso Rabada, along with his South African pace partner Anrich Nortje, Australian all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sams, West Indian batsman Shimron Hetmyer and English bowler Chris Woakes,” the release added.

Meanwhile, the franchise has released six players Mohit Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, Keemo Paul, Sandeep Lamichhane, Alex Carey, and Jason Roy.
