Rohit Sharma led the Mumbai Indians (MI) to their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy win by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by five wickets in the IPL 2020 final in Dubai. The final match was a perfect reflection of the whole tournament as MI stood ahead of others with a fair margin.
After securing the title once again, MI cricketers took to Twitter and celebrated the victory. It was the first time they defended their IPL title and became only the second franchise to do so after Chennai Super Kings.
MI skipper Rohit enjoyed the experience of being an IPL winner for the fifth time. Jasprit Bumrah called it an unbelievable team effort, while Krunal Pandya reminded everyone that hard work always pays off in his post.
Bumrah was the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2020. He picked up 27 wickets in 15 games, behind Kagiso Rabada, who got the Purple Cap with 30 wickets.
Hardik Pandya dedicated the IPL 2020 trophy to his son Agastya. "This one's for you, Agastya â¤ď¸ Love this team! @mipaltan #Believe???????? #MIChampion5," he wrote.
Few other valuable members from the side also posted a tweet after the match. Surya Kumar Yadav posed with the trophy and was delighted to share it with the fans.
