Veteran opener Rohit Sharma was left out of India’s all three squads for the upcoming Australia tour last week due to an injury.
However, there wasn’t any clarity provided on the nature of the injury and what complicated the matter further was MI sharing videos of Rohit’s net session on social media minutes after the team announcement.
While BCCI is yet to share an official word on the extent of Rohit’s injury, the right-hander returned to the playing XI for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Tuesday (November 3) after missing the last four games for the franchise in the ongoing IPL.
At the toss, Rohit was asked about his injury by the on-field broadcaster Murali Kartik and the MI skipper replied that it looks like he is fit and fine.
“Throughout the tournament there has been a lot of talk about the toss, and we need to take toss out of contention and play good cricket. Looks like I’m fit and fine. We are resting some key bowlers - Bumrah and Boult will rest, Pattinson and Dhawal Kulkarni will replace them. I am coming in place of Jayant Yadav,” Rohit said.
Rohit Sharma’s return to action also created a buzz on Twitter as cricket experts shared their views on it.
