IPL 2020: 'Definitely Not' trends on Twitter after Dhoni dismisses retirement speculation; fraternity reacts

MS Dhoni is the only captain until now to win two IPL trophies back-to-back.

Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) captain MS Dhoni, who was the first captain to win the IPL trophy back-to-back in 2010 and 2011, has quashed all rumors of him retiring after his team’s poor performance in the ongoing IPL 2020.

CSK has won just 5 games from 13 matches and became the first team to be eliminated from the race for playoffs. This was the first time in 11 years that CSK has participated in the IPL tournament that they had failed to make it into the final four after the league stages.

CSK have played in playoffs 10 times and made it into the finals eight times when they have participated in the Indian Premier League, showing what consistency the yellow army has shown in the tournament.

During the toss for the 53rd match of the ongoing IPL 2020 between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni was asked by presenter Danny Morrison whether this was his last game for CSK in yellow. MS Dhoni just smiled in reply and said, “Definitely Not.

These two words from one of the greatest of all-time cricketer was enough to send social media in a tizzy and “Definitely Not” started trending on Twitter. The cricket fraternity also reacted to this news and gave their views on Dhoni continuing in the IPL.
