Delhi Capitals (DC) faced Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 51st match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday (October 31).
Opting to bowl first, MI restricted DC to a paltry 110/9 in 20 overs, with Trent Boult (3-21), Jasprit Bumrah (3-17) Rahul Chahar (1-24) doing the damage with the ball.
It was a listless batting performance from the Capitals. Skipper Shreyas Iyer was the top-scorer with 29-ball 25.
In reply, the defending champions overhauled the target in just 14.2 overs with 9 wickets in hand.
The duo of Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock added 68 runs for opening wicket. After De Kock’s dismissal in the 11th over for 26, Kishan continued his domination and shared an unbroken 43-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav to take Mumbai over the line.
While Kishan remained unbeaten on 72 not out off 47 deliveries, Suryakumar finished with 11-ball 12*.
Cricket experts took to Twitter and lauded MI’s clinical performance over DC in all departments of the game.
