Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered their biggest defeat while defending a target in IPL history. Mumbai Indians (MI) chased down the target by 10 wickets and 46 deliveries left. Earlier, it was 40 deliveries against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2012.
Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has supported CSK after their loss on Friday. The team could only score 114/9 at Sharjah, where 180 is considered as a par total. They lost most five wickets inside the powerplay, which is the most in IPL history for them.
Sehwag backed the under-fire CSK skipper MS Dhoni and said the youngsters have let him down.

“This loss against Mumbai will hurt for a very long time. This hurts even more as MS Dhoni might feel that I have tried my youngsters today and they have disappointed me once again. They should have at least scored some runs for themselves and should have taken time to have a taste of the tournament,” Sehwag was quoted as saying on Cricbuzz.
CSK played the two most talked youngsters in the squad, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Narayan Jagadeesan, but both got out on a duck. While it's not good to judge these talented youngsters on few innings, but Sehwag feels they hurt Dhoni with the disappointing performance.
“If the youngsters could have carried the team to a respectable total of 140-150 runs, MS Dhoni would have been contented with that performance. Dhoni would be a lot more hurt as the youngsters have let him down. It will be interesting to see how they make a comeback from here,” he added.
Now CSK's chances to qualify for the playoffs are very low and this might be the first season for them without an entry to the top four.
