CSK lie at the bottom of the points table and one more loss will end their playoffs hopes.

CSK lie at the bottom of the points table and one more loss will end their playoffs hopes | BCCI/IPLThe 41st match of the IPL 2020 will see Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Sharjah on October 23, 2020. CSK had defeated MI in the first match of the IPL 2020 to kick off their tournament, but since then have been on a downward spiral and a loss here will end their hopes of playoffs qualification.

While a loss for MI will hurt their standing in the points table and they need a win as well to confirm their spot in the points table. A crucial match for both teams as a loss or victory might change their fortunes drastically.

Here is the COC Predicted Playing XIs for the CSK v MI match

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS (CSK)

Nothing has gone right for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) this season of the IPL 13. Things started badly during the quarantine when two of their best players Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the tournament owing to personal reasons. Then 13 members including two players tested positive for COVID-19.

IPL 2020: WATCH – Dwayne Bravo urges CSK fans to keep supporting the team in tough times

The morale was lifted a bit with them beating MI in the first match, but after that things went downwards pretty fast. Now they find themselves at the bottom of the points table with 3 wins only. MS Dhoni himself has looked a shadow of his former self with the bat and even his captaincy has lacked that instinct this time.

Kedar Jadhav's constant inclusion in the XI has been criticized | BCCI/IPLBut more than that, CSK has suffered from poor player selections. Constant backing to wrong players has been their undoing and they were trolled for the same on social media after their latest loss. This time, however, they might give chances to either Ruturaj Gaikwad or N Jagadeesan in place of Kedar Jadhav.

And the fact that the match is being played in Sharjah, Piyush Chawla might make way for Tamil Nadu's own R Sai Kishore, who has done well on TNPL.

MUMBAI INDIANS (MI)

MI, who were sitting pretty at the top of the table, suffered losses in two of their matches and a loss here against CSK might hurt their standing in the points table further and hence they cannot take CSK lightly at all.

IPL 2020: Saurabh Tiwary reflects at his maiden stint with Mumbai Indians

The rivalry between these two teams is legendary and this time Rohit Sharma will look to crush MS Dhoni in style to put them in contention for playoffs. MI has been brilliant in the tournament so far, but it seems fatigued and injuries are starting to take its toll on the team. Ishan Kishan is injured and might make way for Saurabh Tiwary in the team.

James Pattinson might come back into the XI | BCCI/IPLTrent Boult also looked out of gas during the match against Kings XI Punjab during the end of the match and the super over he bowled. MI will also look to strengthen their bowling by bringing in James Pattinson for Nathan Coulter-Nile, given how well Pattinson has done for them in this tournament.

Both the teams will look for a win here as one needs it to stay alive in the playoffs race, while the other needs it to stay in the top four.

CSK COC Predicted Playing XI:

Faf du Plessis, Sam Curran, Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C&WK), N Jagadeesan, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, R Sai Kishore, Josh Hazlewood

MI COC Predicted Playing XI:
