Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) veteran spinner Imran Tahir, who was the purple cap holder for most wickets in IPL 2019, hasn't got a single game in the ongoing IPL 2020. The CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has said he will be included in the second phase of the tournament when it gets better for spinners.

During the match between CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), a picture of Tahir carrying drinks started surfacing on the internet. Fans were feeling bad for Tahir, who is one of the best bowlers in the format and in the IPL.

But Tahir understands it's all part of the game and there's no sense of disrespect in carrying drinks for his teammates. He took to Twitter and addressed the matter.

The Proteas spinner said when he was part of the playing XI, his teammates carried drinks for him and now it's time for him to return the favor. He is waiting for the opportunity to give his best, but currently, he would like to contribute to the team in any possible way.

“When I used to play many players carried drinks for me now when deserved players are in the field it’s my duty do return favors. It's not about me playing or not it’s about my team winning. If I get a chance I will do my best but for me team is important”, he wrote.

Tahir had taken 26 wickets in 17 matches of the last IPL season. He has bagged 79 wickets in 55 matches in his six-year of IPL career.

Chennai Super Kings are currently at number six with three wins and five losses. They still have a long way to go to secure a place in the top four.
