Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) suffered a close defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday. They lost the match by 2 runs after Glenn Maxwell could only hit a four, and not six when seven runs were required on the last ball.

It was KXIP's game to lose when they had 9 wickets in hand and needed just 29 runs off 24 deliveries. But KKR fought back in a similar way like they did against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and snatched the game away from Punjab.

Maxwell reacted to the loss on Twitter after failing to take his team over the line. He nearly tied the game with a six off Sunil Narine, but unfortunately the ball fell inches short near the boundary and when the umpire signaled it as a four, the whole KXIP dugout was in dismay.

Taking to Twitter, Maxwell wrote, "Shattered... Disappointed face #gameofinches."

Kings XI Punjab has lost six matches this season, and three of the losses were very close. They are currently at number 8 with just one win in seven matches. Their only win came against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
