IPL 2020: Sunil Narine reported for suspect bowling action, placed in 'warning list'

Umpires Ulhas Gandhe and Chris Gaffaney reported Narine for chucking.

Sunil Narine | IANSKolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might face a big blow moving ahead in the IPL 2020, as their leading spinner Sunil Narine has been once again reported for chucking after the game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on October 10 and one more violation could lead to him being banned from bowling.

“Sunil Narine, the Kolkata Knight Riders player, has been reported for bowling with a Suspected Illegal Bowling Action during his side’s Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match against Kings XI Punjab at Abu Dhabi,” an IPL media release stated.

Keeping in mind the IPL’s Suspected Illegal Bowling Action Policy, on-field umpires (Ulhas Gandhe and Chris Gaffaney) reported Narine for chucking. For now, the West Indian cricketer will be placed on the warning list and is allowed to continue to bowl in the tournament.

“Another report will result in Mr. Narine being suspended from bowling in the Dream11 IPL 2020 until cleared by the BCCI Suspect Bowling Action Committee,” the release stated.

It is worth mentioning here that Sunil Narine has been reported multiple times for chucking and at one point wasn’t permitted to bowl.

During Saturday’s game, he was very difficult to pick as Kings XI batsmen Prabh Simran Singh and Nicholas Pooran found out at the death. Narine returned with the figures of 2 for 28 in his four overs as KKR registered a nail-biting two-run victory over KXIP.
