IPL 2020: Match 27, MI v DC – COC Predicted Playing XIs

MI are no.2 in IPL points table, while DC are ranked no.1.

Rohit's MI goes against Iyer's DC in a battle of table-toppersThe 27th match of the ongoing IPL 2020 will be the second of the two matches to be played on October 11, 2020, and will see Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on Delhi Capitals (DC) in Abu Dhabi. These two teams have done extremely well in the IPL 13 and at the top two spots on the points table.

No.1 ranked DC has won 5 out of six matches so far, while no.2 MI has won 4 matches so far. Both the teams have dominated the proceedings in their matches and for this high-voltage clash, TEAM COC presents the Predicted Playing XIs.

MUMBAI INDIANS (MI)

Mumbai Indians have been on a roll thanks to a strong playing XI they have picked. Openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock have done amazingly well and if any of them have failed that Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have come to the party in the middle order.

If that wasn’t enough, MI boasts of probably the most destructive hitter power in IPL in form of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Krunal Pandya. These three are capable of sending every ball they face out of the ground, with ease.

James Pattinson has been amazing for MI | IANSIn the bowling department, Rahul Chahar has done a brilliant job in the middle overs, picking wickets and stifling runs as well. On the fast bowling front, James Pattinson, Jasprit Bumrah, and Trent Boult have worked in tandem to make the lives of opposition batsmen difficult.

A special word here for Pattinson, who has been magnificent both at the front and in death as well. The only possible change here is that MI might bring in Nathan Coulter-Nile to give rest to either Boult or Pattinson.

DELHI CAPITALS (DC)

Delhi Capitals have been ruthless in their execution of plans. Shreyas Iyer has led from the front and others have followed suit. Prithvi Shaw’s form and aggression have hidden the fact that Shikhar Dhawan has not made that many runs with his highest score being 35 and strike rate being a tad over 122.

Iyer with over 200 runs and Shaw just nearing that mark, has done amazingly well and has gotten amazing support from Marcus Stoinis, Rishabh Pant, and now even Hetmyer has joined the party as well. Though Pant is yet to play that one defining knock in IPL 13, he has contributed well and at a good rate as well.

Kagiso Rabada has already picked 15 wickets in IPL 13 so far | IANSBowling-wise, the inclusion of Akshar Patel has not made DC miss Amit Mishra more. He also brings in his batting prowess as well. He has bowled well in tandem with R Ashwin, while Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have posed many problems for the batsmen with their speed and bounce.

Rabada already has 15 wickets in 6 matches, while Nortje has supported him well with 8 scalps. This is a well-oiled machine reaching its zenith in the tournament.
